The KazDual project team visited the Technical Vocational School (TVET) of the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg

June 22, 2022 - The KazDual project team visited the Technical Vocational School (TVET) of the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg. The participants of the training were greeted by the Director of the school, Dr. Burkhardt Lange, and his colleagues Dr. Plewe and Dr. Beck.

The educational institution has been training personnel since 1903 and is the largest in Sachsen Anhalt.

The participants of the training in Magdeburg saw the facilities of the Technical Vocational School, these are the labs of electrical engineering and mechatronics, automotive mechatronics, information technology and programming, construction and production of building materials, and design. It demonstrated the connection and transition from the qualification framework levels of technical and vocational education to the levels of higher and postgraduate education according to the experience of Germany.

Trainers from the Pedagogical University Tyrol, the Austrian partner university of the ERASMUS + KazDual project, continue this week's workshops. Today's topic of the workshop was the development of professional competencies and their assessment. The workshop led to demonstrating and using the modern approaches for assessing competencies and learning outcomes in the context of dual learning. The experience of Austrian universities has shown that competency assessment is a rather complex and multifaceted process that requires the use of a complex of different assessment methods.

The progress of the KazDual team towards the design of the Kazakh model of the dual system is moving to concrete results and recommendations based on the experience of Germany and Austria.
