Continuation of cascade training in Europe under the KazDual project. Training of trainers at the Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol in Innsbruck (Austria)

The working group of the project KazDual - "Implementing dual system in Kazakhstan", Erasmus+ program arrived on June 27, 2022 on a training of trainers at the Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol in Innsbruck (Austria). Kazakhstan team was represented by M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, Shakarim University, Karaganda Higher Polytechnic College and Semei Electrotechnical College.

On the first day of trainings the Kazakh project team was welcomed by KazDual project manager from Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol in Innsbruck (Austria), Dr. Regine Mathies and project team member Ingrid Hotarek, who introduced the training program.

The project team was divided into two groups according to training goals:

Group 1 - training of trainers on development and implementation of the Dual Education Model.

Group 2 - training of trainers of managers of enterprises and trainers-executives

In the 1st group project trainers from Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg (Germany), the project coordinator researcher of the Department of Professional Education and Human Resource Development, Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Julia Nepomnyaschaya and Dr. Olga Zeihel presented the main models of training programs and their main conceptual differences, the main stages of curriculum development, principles of workflow analysis using a combination of expert interviews, open discussions and observations.

Then the DACUM method was presented, the analysis of the main errors in the application of the DACUM method: the logical background of the DACUM method, the stages of the DACUM. Great interest of the training participants was aroused by such issues as the development of job profiles and training programs, drawing up a matrix of the scope of work and related tasks.

Also, the analysis of the needs of the German economy in qualified university graduates, the causes of staff shortages, models of interaction between the labor market and education, discussed the accounting of regional characteristics, labor market demands in the development of educational programs, procedures for the development of training profiles were given.

During the training, the participants analyzed possible labor situations; introduced their own experience in the implementation of dual training programs of Kazakhstani universities and colleges.

The participants of the training had questions on possibilities of application of different models of educational programs, advantages and risks; differences of dual-oriented programs from so called "pure" dual programs.

In the final presentation of the training the following issues were discussed:

1) work-oriented didactics, work tasks.

2) professional competence and professional curricula.

3) Curriculum oriented to areas of learning.

4) Action-oriented teaching methods.

The working day ended with a lively discussion of questions and suggestions: Is dual training appropriate for all educational programs? How do I get into a bachelor's degree from college without retaking courses?

In the 2nd group, trainer Regine Mathies formulated the conceptual apparatus of dual education in different stakeholders - participants of the training: heads of universities, colleges, production teachers. Dr. Regine presented the theoretical foundations of the concepts of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, employment, student-centered education, meta-competencies, including adaptability and awareness. During practical work each participant of training had an opportunity to give a reflection of use of the given theory, concerning own professional activity.

Active discussions of the training participants are a proof of the relevance of dual education and the importance of international scientific collaboration in the study and development of flexible training programs.
