The fourth day of training at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany
The fourth day of trainings on 16.06.22 was productive, the speaker was Hannes Tegelbeckers, a researcher at the Department of Engineering Pedagogy and Technical Education of the Faculty of Humanities. He introduced the trainees to the experience of the Otto von Guericke University in the field of internationalization of higher education. In particular, the experience of the university's work under the UNESCO Ganhou 2004 (TVET) program was demonstrated. The principles and algorithm of actions are disclosed when working on combining the curricula of participants in international programs in order to obtain a double diploma for students. Demonstrated both the main agreed standards and the framework curriculum of the university master's degree
Hannes Tegelbeckers noted that the internationalization of higher education in Germany is more organized and coordinated than in most European and other countries. This is due to the fact that the process is coordinated by five organizations: the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German Research Society, the German Rectors' Association, the German Academic Exchange Service and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
The trainer concluded that in recent years Germany has accumulated serious experience in the field of internationalization of higher education, as evidenced by the significant legal framework governing this process. Foreign graduates are even more important as highly qualified specialists who speak German, know the culture and working methods in Germany, and possess skills that can significantly accelerate their social and economic integration into German society. The chances of finding a well-paid job are higher if you get an education in dual programs, which are domestic and international. From the training, the students learned what a double diploma is, what training programs are, what are the advantages and disadvantages of such training, how to become an exchange student and receive an international diploma.
Then there was a brief tour of the laboratories of electrical and construction equipment of the Department of Engineering Pedagogy and Technical Education of the Otto von Guericke University.
The experience of Germany in the implementation of the strategy of internationalization of higher education is of great practical interest for Kazakhstan, since German universities are traditionally strategic partners of Kazakhstani universities.
The working day ended with an excursion to Pergamon MED, which is a dual partner of the university. Pergamon MED provides services in the field of software programming for medical diagnostic equipment for healthcare companies in Germany. As a dual partner, the company is actively engaged in practical training of students of the University of IT engineering in terms of obtaining professional competencies in the field of programming, administration and testing of IT products, maintenance of computer equipment. Laboratories were demonstrated in which students work and receive professional and special skills under the guidance of a mentor, schedules, curriculum and programs for which a student undergoes dual training and passes procedures for testing acquired knowledge and skills, as well as familiarization with equipment and products (software products ). A meeting was held with an employee of the company, who, previously a student at the Otto von Guericke University, received dual education on the basis of Pergamon MED, joined the staff of the company and achieved good career growth.
